Sargasm is a film created and written by Joe Hawley's comedy troupe from college: AnonyMous. The film contains several different skits that would evolve into parts of Tally Hall's Internet Show.

Sargasm was described as:

Sargasm (sär-”ga-z&m) n. Literally an explosion of wit, irony, and a guy in a gorilla costume. Its beholder is left gasping for air as a direct result of uncontrollable outbursts of laughter resulting from the rapid succession of uproarious episodes. See AnonyMous.”

History

The film was written by the nine members of AnonyMous in September of 2002 and filmed for less than $100 on Joe's digital camera. One member, Rick Lax, would pitch Sargasm to the Michigan Theater, who agreed to show it on April 10th, 2003 at 7pm.[1]

For a time, most of Sargasm was lost. The only surviving parts being short clips and the Break It Down music video. However the full film would be uploaded to YouTube by user bluemonkey223 on September 23rd, 2018. The description read:

"This is a video put together by Film students at the University of Michigan, graduating class of 2002. A silly skit show that my friends and I stumbled upon many years ago. Very few of these films ever get out from the campus so I hope you enjoy a little snapshot into the minds of young college comedians in the year 2002."[2]

The video was removed from YouTube sometime in 2020 but is archived through both TallyAll and an upload by YouTube user Ryan Jordan.[3]

On October 25th 2021, YouTube user TheProdigalSon (an account of bluemonkey223) obtained and uploaded a DVD rip of Sargasm to Google Drive.[4][5]
