Two Wuv is a song by Andrew Horowitz, though Zubin Sedghi sings it in both the demo and studio versions.
The music video for Two Wuv is the 6th episode of Tally Hall's Internet Show.
History
The song first showed up on Welcome To Tally Hall EP, with a completely different bridge. This bridge featured Andrew and Zubin talking about what they would do to impress the twins. This song was later re-released on Complete Demos, unchanged. While recording the studio version for Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum in 2005, many different phone call edits were attempted. These can be heard on Admittedly Incomplete Demos.
When it was re-recorded and re-released in 2008, the buzzing sound during “you dressed up like a bee” was removed for unknown reasons.
Song Meaning
Two Wuv is about a person who becomes obsessed with famous twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, going as far as planning to stalk them. Eventually it escalates to where the person gets one twin's (presumably Mary-Kate's) phone number and has a unsuccessful phone call with her.
Live Performances
During the summer of 2006 while supporting Puffy AmiYumi, they would change part of the chorus during the outro to "Puffy AmiYumi I hope you understand that I love you a lot and I wanna be your man". This can be heard on a recording of Tally Hall's performance at St. Andrew's Hall on the 18th of July.[1]
Trivia
- A rough mix of the song exists without the phone call bridge and with different guitars.[2]
- The title seems to be a play on the words "true love". The use of the word "two" also works because there are two Olsens.
- Andrew has stated that he wishes that he scrapped the song[3]
Lyrics
I have this little thing It's probably just a fling There's two girls I like a lot I think they're really hot But I'm not sure if they know How my love began to grow It took a lot of time Right now it's solely mine Today I drew a mural of The things I'd like to love And where my heart resides Is with two girls with great eyes If they just give me a chance I'd show them what they want And teach them what they've got I'd tickle each and every one of their fancies And I'd take the key to my heart and open it And let the love shine through Mary-Kate and Ashley I hope you understand That I love you a lot And I wanna be your man And I think That it'd be totally cool If I hung around your apartments And enrolled in your school Mary-Kate I saw you on TV You dressed up like a bee Reminds me of the time How it's gone and it's gone and it's gone It's sadness every day that passes without you And I really wanna really wanna really wanna Hold you both tight And tell you you're mine But instead I sing Mary-Kate and Ashley I hope you understand That I love you a lot And I wanna be your man And I think That it'd be totally cool If I hung around your apartments And enrolled in your school *Ringing* Olsen twin: Hello? Zubin: Hello? Olsen twin: Hello? Zubin: Hey, I'm calling from Tally Hall... Olsen twin: Wait, say that again, slowly Zubin: What? Hello? Olsen twin: Hello? Zubin: Hey, I'm calling from Tally Hall, and I just-- *Dial tone* Mary-Kate and Ashley I hope you understand That I love you a lot And I wanna be your man And I think That it'd be totally cool If I hung around your apartments And enrolled in your school I know that life without You and you Would be sad And I know it'd be bad Mary-Kate and Ashley I hope you understand That your loveliness blossomed And I wanna hold your hands And I think That it'd be totally cool If I hung around your apartments And enrolled in your school Mary-Kate and Ashley I hope you understand That I love you a lot And I wanna be your man And I think That it'd be totally cool If I hung around your apartments And enrolled in your school Once you learn to love me Life will be alright
Demo Lyrics
I have this little thing It's probably just a fling There's two girls I like a lot I think they're really hot But I'm not sure if they know How my love began to grow It took a lot of time But right now it's solely mine Today! I drew a mural of The things I'd like to love And where my heart subsides Is with two girls with great eyes If they just gave me a chance I'd show them what they want and teach 'em what they've got I'd tickle each and every one of their fancies And I'd take the key to my heart and open it, and let the love shine through Mary-Kate and Ashley, I hope you understand That I love you a lot and I wanna be your man And I think that it'd be totally cool If I hung around your apartments and enrolled in your school Mary Kate! I saw you on TV You dressed up like a bee Reminds me of the time How it's gone and it's gone and it's gone It's sadness every day that passes Without you and I really wanna, really wanna Really wanna hold you both tight And tell you you're mine but instead I sing: Mary-Kate and Ashley, I hope you understand That I love you a lot and I wanna be your man And I think that it'd be totally cool If I hung around your apartments and enrolled in your school Andrew: Yeah, I could play them a song Zubin: There's probably hundreds of songs out there Andrew: Maybe I could play them two songs Zubin: Yeah? Andrew: Because there's two of them Zubin: Yeah Mary-Kate and Ashley, I hope you understand That I love you a lot and I wanna be your man And I think that it'd be totally cool If I hung around your apartments and enrolled in your school I know that life without you and you would be sad And I know it'd be bad Mary-Kate and Ashley, I hope you understand That your loveliness blossomed and I wanna hold your hands And I think that it'd be totally cool If I hung around your apartments and enrolled in your school Mary-Kate and Ashley, I hope you understand That I love you a lot and I wanna be your man And I think that it'd be totally cool If I hung around your apartments and enrolled in your school Once you learn to love me, life will be alright Once you learn to love me, life will be alright Once you learn to love me, life will be alright
