You & Me is a song by Rob Cantor.
History
You & Me was originally sung by Zubin Sedghi when they first began to perform the song at shows in 2009, and according to a fan who spoke with the band, the producer Tony Hoffer wanted him to sing lead just as he had on Rob's demo. YouTube holds a couple videos still of the performances with Zubin on lead vocals.
You & Me was one of the first songs publicly shown from Good & Evil, being aired on Ann Arbor's 107.1 in full on March 9th 2010.[1] The track was also the first single released off of Good & Evil. It was released on May 2nd, 2011 via the music blog Consequence Of Sound (CoS). [2]
Inspiration
According to a 2011 interview with Fearless Radio, Rob stated the track was inspired by deeply thinking about a "circular" relationship with him and a girl[3].
Lyrics
Starting out a road, carefully unload Open-eyed and all the light is falling Back and forth, and I concede of course Maybe I am in the way recalling It's just you Off again we go, another seed to sow Another part to keep in proper order What have I begun? A getaway undone I have seen the signs and I ignored them Now it's you and me Divine, a circular design Do do-do do-do Time and place in mind Points along a line Do do-do do-do Sitting in the park, I carefully remark "Everything is better when you're learning" You were in the dark, I was in the dark Everything is made to keep on turning It's just you and me Divine, a circular design Do do-do do-do Time and place in mind Points along a line Do do-do do-do You and me return to be In orbit all the time You turn away and around I've been coming down, I've been coming down You turn away and around I've been coming down, I've been coming down (You and me divine a circular design) You turn away and around I've been coming down, I've been coming down (Time and place in mind points along a line) You turn away and around I've been coming down, I've been coming down
