Andrew Laurich was a film major at the University of Michigan. He was Rob’s roommate in college and did freelance film work with Joe. He showed Joe music of ListedBlack (Rob's high school band), and introduced the two for the first time when "he and Joe were editing a music video and Rob came upstairs". [1] [2] He was a member and is listed in the credits of anonyMous and Toy Orchestra, as well as having an appearance in Joe’s senior films “The Other Way” and "Sargasm". He also acted in the Tally Hall skit “Directions” as the man in the backseat. [3]
Laurich has had many involvements with the members' side projects as well, especially Cantor's solo album, Not A Trampoline.
He started whispering Shia LaBeouf's name dramatically while he and Rob were helping a friend move, and this was what inspired Rob’s song Actual Cannibal Shia LaBeouf, which eventually led to Shia LaBeouf Live. [4] He is also the man speaking Spanish in a track from the album, Flamingo, [5] and is credited in music videos “Old Bike” as a director and “All I Need is You” as a co-director. [6] [7]
Laurich has also starred as the voice of Christopher Walken for Rob’s YouTube video "29 Celebrity Impressions, 1 Original Song". [8] His name is listed in the credits of Shia LaBeouf Live as “Button: Andrew Laurich,” implying he started the joke.[9] He is mentioned in the special thanks section of the video and the music video for Rob’s song, The Rendezvous. [10]
Along with this, he is listed as a contributor to Hawley's album, Hawaii Part II, as part of its rotating cast. [11]
