Complete Demos is the combination of the band's previous two EP's, Party Boobytrap and Welcome To Tally Hall (EP), and a newly recorded song named Banana Man. Together, these EPs made up the first full length album released by Tally Hall. It's a collection of well-produced demos recorded in Joe's attic using a digital camcorder and recording each track one by one. Many agree it captured a magic unfound in the later studio recordings of these songs.

Complete Demos is the combination of the band's previous two EP's, Party Boobytrap and Welcome To Tally Hall (EP), and a newly recorded song named Banana Man. It was released sometime in 2004 on CD and later re-released on Bandcamp in December of 2015.

History

Complete Demos is a collection of demos recorded in Joe Hawley's attic/bedroom using a digital camcorder and recording each track one by one. The demos were edited together on Final Cut Pro, presumably on Joe's Mac. Banana Man is the only original track on the album and marks the last recording Steve Gallagher contributed to before leaving Tally Hall in 2004. Tally Hall released it on CD in 2004 and would sell it at both concerts and their website, some being signed by the band themselves.

Most of the tracks went on to be re-recorded for Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum, with the exception of Stationary Love and (I Know) It's Just The Same. It is unknown why these were not re-recorded but its possible they considered them not good enough to record.

In December of 2015, the album would be re-released on Bandcamp[1] alongside Admittedly Incomplete Demos, a collection of unfinished demo tracks, and previously unreleased material.[2]

Trivia

 • Although Ross Federman appears in the photograph used as the album cover, Steve Gallagher is credited for the drums in these demos.[1] This is due to Ross joining the band after those demos were recorded but before the culmination and release of Complete Demos.
 • Song credits on Broadjam.com reveal that Joe Hawley and Steve Gallagher were two of the main producers of the album.
