(I Know) It's Just The Same, a song by Andrew Horowitz. It features on the Welcome to Tally Hall EP album and was later included in Complete Demos [1], but unlike most other tracks on the album it wasn't ever re-recorded.

It was performed live in 2005 at the Pingry School, then later in 2008 at the Bowery Ballroom on April 15th and the day after at The North Star Bar. These are possibly the only live performances of the song.

Trivia

  • (I Know) It's Just The Same is in 6/8 or 3/4 time.
  • A fan-made music video was made by Randall Maxwell, friend of Andrew Laurich. Laurich himself directed the music video for Rob Cantor's song Old Bike.[2] The fan-made video was re-uploaded to YouTube in 2015[3]
  • Andrew stated in a Keep Up The Good Work episode that the song isn't in the top 50 songs he wrote. [4]

Lyrics

If I could go back to last night at the dance
I'd ask you to dance with me
If I could approach you for your number
I would call you as soon as I got home

The first time I saw you I saw you
My heart fell to pieces
The first time I imagined being closer
It could have happened

Last night I had my chance (ohh ahh)
To hold you in my arms and slowly dance (ohh ahh)
But I couldn't ask you at the time

And I know it's just the same (oh oh oh oh)
And I feel it's just the same (oh oh oh oh oh)
And I know it's just the same (oh oh yeah)
And I feel
It's just the same

I forgot what it feels like
to feel something good
I remember now
I don't care if some other guy's in your life
I hope you could love me

Last night I had my chance (ohh ahh)
To hold you in my arms and slowly dance (ohh ahh)
But I couldn't ask you at the time

And I know it's just the same (oh oh oh oh)
And I feel it's just the same (oh oh oh oh oh)
And I know it's just the same (oh oh yeah)
And I feel

Will I adore you on a Thursday night
Will I remember you on Saturday
And I'll just think of all the time

And I know it's just the same (oh oh oh oh)
And I feel it's just the same (oh oh oh oh oh)
And I know it's just the same (oh oh yeah)
And I feel
