Casey Shea first met Tally Hall through MySpace then later opened for the band December 15, 2005 at a show in Bound Brook, New Jersey in a venue called Hamilton St. Cafe & Stage. He filled in for Joe Hawley on Tally Hall's March 2010 tour when Hawley couldn't join the rest of the band due to unforeseen circumstances.[1]
A month after the release of Good & Evil, Shea joined up with Tally Hall once more to release a cover of the Flo Rida song Club Can't Handle Me, which was released on YouTube on July 18th 2011[2]
In 2015, Shea contributed a cover of Banana Man to the fan-made Tally Hall cover compilation album: We Think We're Playing In A Band: A Tribute To Tally Hall[3] and in 2018, he appeared on Joe Hawley's cover of the song Since I don't have you, contributing vocals and acoustic guitar.[4]
In 2020 Casey was a featured guest on episode 2 of Andrew Horowitz's interview web-series: Keep Up The Good Work, alongside Livia Blanc.[1]
History
Casey was born on November 27, 1979 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. At the age of five, his family relocated to Ponte Vedra, Florida. After graduating from Florida State University, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue a career in songwriting and recording. In January 2004 he moved to New York to continue pursuing his music, quickly finding a home in the open mic scene. His debut solo album "Take The Bite" was released in 2006[5], and blended folk, rock, and psychedelia. Casey was signed to the indie label Family Records in 2007. During the first six months of 2009 he released one single each month, one of which being 'Roll Your Windows Down' which was featured on the TV Show One Tree Hill. A major musical influence is The Beatles.
Fun Facts
- Casey wore a black tie when he filled in for Joe on the 2010 Tally Hall tour.
- While on tour with Tally Hall, the band played one of Casey's songs every show.[1]
- When asked about his likes and dislikes, Casey listed his top like as Andrew Horowitz[1]
- Casey is also a vocalist in the Americana band Grand Canyon[6]
