Good Day (T.H.I.S. Episode)

Good Day is the first episode of Tally Hall's Internet Show, which premiered on their website September 15, 2008. The episode runs 9 minutes and 24 seconds and is best known for the music video of the song Good Day.

Computer/Television Couple; "Let's have an Internet Show..."

{A green title card similar to those used before movie trailers appears on the screen reading, "The following NONSENSE has been approved for TALLY HALL AUDIENCES by the Internet Video Association of America"}

{Cut to Computer and Television in bed, Computer is smoking a cigarette and Television is wearing a nightgown}

COMPUTER: Are you sure you're ready for this?

TELEVISION: Why not?

{Television holds up a book of 100,001 Baby Names and flips through the T section, getting closer to the word Tally Hall but never reaching it.}

COMPUTER: It's just... a lot of responsibility.

TELEVISION: Honey, if you're not ready, tell me now, I can wait.

COMPUTER: No, let's do this. Let's have an internet show.

TELEVISION: Really?

COMPUTER: Really.

TELEVISION: Aw, I love you!

COMPUTER: I love you too, television.

{Cut to Rob Cantor in a black room moving in stop motion. A Chiptune cover of Welcome to Tally Hall plays. Rob puts his hands together and pulls them apart to reveal his name on a yellow block and moves into the background. Ross Federman moves into the foreground and pushes a grey block against his head with his right hand, it comes out the other side of his head and the grey block with his name on it gets grabbed by his right hand. Ross moves into the background. Joe Hawley comes into the foreground doing a finger gun motion, the red block with his name on it comes out like a flag from a prop gun. Joe moves into the background. Andrew comes into the foreground, grabs the screen, which flashes green for a millisecond, he pulls the block back until it freezes on him holding the block with his name on it. Andrew moves into the background. Zubin moves into the foreground, unfolding the block, which has his name on it when he moves it down slightly. Zubin moves into the background, the other members of the band move next to him, then go into the foreground, but are interrupted by a falling curtain. The logo for the show falls down attached to strings as a voice sings "Tally Hall" }

JOE HAWLEY: (VOICEOVER) A lot of people say that we're silly.

{Cut to Joe in black and white walking down a sidewalk in a park}

JOE HAWLEY: But it's not necessarily the phrase that could be used to describe us. Um... We do a lot of things that I would consider to be serious, although...

{Joe turns around to throw what he is carrying away}

JOE HAWLEY: It isn't always- It isn't always ridiculous.

{he throws away the trash}

JOE HAWLEY: Sometimes we try to--

{Joe takes salt out of his pocket and puts it into a bucket labeled SALT}

{Ryan emerges from the pile of mail}

RYAN: Welcome to Questions Answered. I'm Ryan.

{An instrumental version of The Bidding starts playing as Ryan selects a letter.}

RYAN: Today's letter comes from... Sam Markes from Omaha, Nebraska.

{Ryan takes a comically long time opening the letter, cutting it in multiple places and removing the paper within}

RYAN: "Dear Tally Hall, if you had one wish, what would it be?"

{Cut to Joe in a corn field, Light & Day by Polyphonic Spree plays in the background}

JOE: I would wish for advancements in the field of renewable energy,

{Text reading "Renewable Energy" appears on the screen}

JOE: so that we can end our dependence on foreign oil and treat Mother Earth with the respect that she truly deserves.

{Joe pats one of the corns}

{Cut to Andrew on a stage in front of a piano}

ANDREW: I'd wish to compose the most beautiful piece of music.

{text appears on the screen reading "BEAUTIFUL MUSIC"}

ANDREW: A work powerful enough to move mountains.

{Cut to Rob in a classroom leaning on a desk}

ROB: I would wish for more wishes,

{text appears on the screen reading "MORE WISHES"}

ROB: so that I could continue to wish for things, even after my initial wish had been used.

{Cut to Zubin on a basketball court}

ZUBIN: I wish to be the greatest basketball player of all time.

{The text corresponding to this appears on the screen as Zubin bounces the ball towards the basket}

{cut back to Rob in the classroom}

ROB: I think that's kind of selfish, Zubin.

{Cut to Ross petting a bush}

ROSS: I would wish for advancements in the field of renewable energy,

{corresponding text appears}

ROSS: so that we can end our dependency on foreign oil and--

{Cut back to Andrew at the piano}

ANDREW: Can I change mine? I wish to be a better basketball player than you, Zubin.

{text appears on the screen reading "A better basketball player than Zubin"}

{Cut back to Ross petting the bush, he stops touching it and looks at the camera slightly}

ROSS: I'll take Andrew's old one, then.

{cut to Ross at the piano Andrew was previously at. The music fades out as Ross plays a short song on the piano that turns into a full ragtime song. Cut to Andrew and Zubin playing basketball, Andrew fakes out Zubin and then makes a basket, evading him the whole way. He chases Zubin in a gloating way.}

ANDREW: Yeaaaaah!

{Light and Day by Polyphonic Spree comes back as it cuts to Rob in the classroom once more}

ROB: For my first wish, uh... I wish for... A billion dollars.

{text comes on the screen reading "A Billion Dollars"}

{A splash screen with a green background and a tile of dollar signs over top of it appears on the screen as a cash register sound plays.}

{Rob is now holding a several bags of money. There are some in the background as well.}

ROB: Good times!

{He turns around and sees the bags of money on the other desks}

ROB: Woaaaah!

{Cut back to the Tally Mail room as Ryan wraps things up}

RYAN: I hope that helps!

{Ryan sinks into the pile of mail}

RYAN: I'm Ryan.
