Background

Cojum Dip was formed in 2004 while Bora was attending the University of Michigan. The band would hold their first concert at the Duderstadt Center in February 2005 and performed in Michigan through 2005 and 2006. After their last concert at The Blind Pig, where the band covered Inside The Mind Of Simon, Bora moved to Los Angeles in 2006 and the band was put on hold.

A reunion show took place in 2008[citation needed] at a short-lived venue called The Alibi in Ann Arbor, MI, which no longer exists.[3]

On May 24th, 2009, a video was uploaded to the Cojum Dip YouTube channel titled "What Is Cojum Dip?" [4] In 2010-2011 Bora planned to put together a new chapter of Cojum Dip after finding some new band members in the LA area with a plan to start rocking the world again.[5]

In October 2012 Cojum Dip released two Instrumental Megaman-themed cover albums entitled "Videojuegos: Volume 1"[6] & "Videojuegos: Volume 2"[7]

On the 12th of January 2014 Cojum Dip released their eponymous album on their bandcamp page which features additional vocals by Joe Hawley[8]

In 2019, Cojum Dip's self-titled album was uploaded to streaming services[9], as well as a piano version of 'Moon Waltz'[10] Cojum Dip also featured on Aristotle's Denial which was the only un-reversed song from Yelwah Eoj Yelwah Eoj to be uploaded to streaming services.[11]

In 2021, Spencer Bastian would share a video on Facebook of Cojum Dip performing a cover of Fuck Bucket's 'Pubes of Doom'.[12]

Second Album

For a while there have been plans for a second Cojum Dip album. One of the earliest confirmations was a Reddit AMA with Bora, Joe Hawley, and Ross Federman. Bora confirmed a second album would be released in the summer of 2019, but this didn't happen.[13] Later in 2022, Bora confirmed on a Twitch livestream that the second album would be coming soon but with no confirmed release window.[14]

It has been reported by multiple people who went to the edu + Friends opener for Jukebox The Ghost on May 17th 2024, that Bora confirmed that a new album is being made, alongside new live shows and CD releases.[15]
