Needlejuice Records
Needlejuice Records is a Tennessee based record label founded in 2017 by Nuclear Bubble Wrap's Jace McLain, Smashy Claw's Austin Aeschliman, and Brandon Brown. It specializes in producing physical media for alternative and internet-based musicians like Lemon Demon, The Scary Jokes, and Kawai Sprite.
In 2021, Needlejuice announced that they would be pressing Tally Hall's Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum on vinyl, CD, cassette,[1] and later minidisc[2]. They are Tally Hall's current record label, and plan to also produce physicals for Tally Hall's second album, Good & Evil, although there is currently no timeframe for the release.[3]
If and when you discover Tally Hall records in your local record stores and online retailers, you may notice that the label name is different. Sometimes, if they don't say Needlejuice, it will say Oglio and others say Ingrooves. The reason behind this is all the brokers and partnerships that Needlejuice has with other companies to help distribute the merchandise and the retailers often cannot figure out who the actual label is. Here's a breakdown of the process and companies behind them:
- GZ Media is the pressing plant in the Czech Republic
- Pirates Press is a US broker for GZ Media, which handles the process of actually processing the order for preparation at GZ
- Needlejuice is the label! They order the records from Pirates Press
- Oglio is a record label that partnered with Needlejuice for a distribution deal
- Ingrooves is the big distributor that sells the record to retailers
