Pure Imagination is a song by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley, and performed by Gene Wilder for the film "Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory". During their 2011 tour, Tally Hall perform a cover of Pure Imagination, usually after Never Meant To Know in a pseudo-medley.[1]

Lyrics

Come with me and you'll be
In a world of pure imagination
Take a look and you'll see
Into your imagination

We'll begin with a spin
Traveling in the world of my creation
What we'll see will defy
Explanation

If you want to view paradise
Simply look around and view it
Anything you want to, do it
Want to change the world?
There's nothing to it

There is no life I know
To compare with pure imagination
Living there, you'll be free
If you truly wish to be

If you want to view paradise
Simply look around and view it
Anything you want to, do it
Want to change the world?
There's nothing to it

There is no life I know
To compare with pure imagination
Living there, you'll be free
If you truly wish to be

Trivia

  • Willy Wonka has inspired Joe Hawley quite a bit, including titling backing vocals from Go To Bed "Wonka Vox", and drawing a left-handed comic about Charlie inheriting the Chocolate Factory and having to scoop up Oompa Loompa poop.[2][3]
