The Bidding was first released on [[The Pingry EP]], recorded at a studio in the University of Michigan. The introduction hums to The Bidding were originally meant for [[Spring and a Storm]], as shown on a early demo for Spring and a Storm before it had most of its lyrics. Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum 2005 has a entirely different recording than M.M.M.M 2008, having different intro harmonies. The recording on M.M.M.M. 2008 has a much slower tempo, being about 10 seconds slower than 2005's.
