'''Mr. President, There's an Asteroid Headed Directly For the Earth: The Musical''' is a most likely canceled musical written and presumably composed by [[Rob Cantor]] and [[Rick Lax]]. Originally, it was to be pitched to Amazon Studios as an episodic online musical to be hosted on Amazon Instant Video. While it was never picked up, demos do exist of the four songs in the first part. However, Rob attempts to cover every single role.

Series Concept:
Coming directly from the [https://web.archive.org/web/20120512085327/http://studios.amazon.com/projects/9984 archived Amazon Studios page]:

"In every disaster movie, some guy bursts into the Oval Office and says, "Mr. President! There's an asteroid headed directly for the earth!" This is that guy's story."

And the plot is set to be:
"Calvert, our geeky hero, meets Kayla at an astronomy lecture. She misread a flyer and thought it was an astrology talk. Her mistake will prove to be the most devastating event in the course of human history."<ref>https://web.archive.org/web/20120512085327/http://studios.amazon.com/projects/9984 Archived Amazon Studios page for Mr President There's An Asteroid Headed Directly For The Earth: The Musical. An outline of the four acts was recovered by SkyetheGuy, which is referred to as a "Mini Bible", most likely it is a digestable version of the entire storyline for those who are working on the project.<ref>https://www.skyetheguy.com/DoubleOOP/MrPresidentMiniBible.pdf Mr President Mini Bible. The latter of which corrects a spelling error, and removes information about the website and password<ref name=act1v1></ref><ref name=act1v2></ref>

As shown by the plot synopsis, there used to be a website for the musical containing all the songs (and most likely the script.) However, as of recent, the website has been closed down. Instead, you'll simply be met with its host trying to advertise to you. Telling from archive.org, the music was most likely just stored in a simple text file-structure format, rather than a pretty website, due to its main page being "asteroidmusical.com:80".

There appears to be a PDF file online containing some version of the script at [https://www.skyetheguy.com/DoubleOOP/ this website] under "MrPresidentAct1.pdf", however, the script does not seem to be referenced within his site directly, and it is unknown whether or not this is an official copy. From what is there on his index, it looks to be a legitimate copy of what was uploaded to AstroidMusical.com. It is listed to have been uploaded to his site on December 12th, 2012.
