Part of Joe's inspiration for Hawaii: Part II was a book titled "The Secrets and Mysteries of Hawaii: A Call to the Soul" by William Chiles, released in 1995. He found it in a bookstore around 2008, when friend [[Ricky Lax]] released his first book Lawyer Boy.
